- ABSTRACT: Diverse geological events have had a strong influence on Washington's soil productivity, location of mineral deposits, topography and climate. The state is impacted by crustal tectonics, and has been subjected to vast outpourings of basalt. Rocks from Precambrian to Quaternary age are present. This paper examines each of the following physiographic regions in turn: Okanogan Highlands; Northern Cascades; Southern Cascades; Olympic Mountains; Willapa Hills; Columbia Basin; Blue Mountains; Puget Lowland; Portland Basin.

Other Written Contributions
Various Published Wrotten Contributions
- Victor F. Hollister Exploration Files by R Lasmanis[33]
- Washington State Minerals Checklist Compiled by Raymond Lasmanis[34]
The following was written by Raymond Lasmanis as a student, studying technical report writing at the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy during the school year 1958-1959. The prepared report was a partial fulfillment of the engineer report writing course, English 51, each student was assigned the task of putting the essence of a lecture, made by the Assistant Professor of English John M. Brewer, and put it into good report form. The title was to be taken from their course syllabus. Each student gave permission (without monetary remuneration or copyright restrictions) allowing it to be published and used in a manual for report writing courses. English 51, for which the manual was prepared, includes the fundamentals of scientific and technical exposition and description with emphasis upon their application to the technical report; the organization of facts and ideas, emphasizing purpose, plan, and structure; and the study of conventional styles and forms in technical reports and articles.
