Guidelines

Since there is overlap from one era to another, a set of Guidelines on both personal and place names was established with some explanations of where our dit names come from, and how they are used, among other items. Location names were also itemized as to proper format.

Goal

The goal of the Quebec Team is getting profiles properly sourced and categorized for now, with place names properly shown for each era.

Task List

  • Currently, Paul Chisarik and others have begun an indexing of parish records from Family Search for this province, anyone interested in helping them out, see this G2G for more data as well as this page: [Index Project]
  • There are a number of individual profiles under the Category Québec which need to be removed from there and correctly categorized to their location. Some interim categories before Confederation and after the end of New France are not yet created, please do not create them as the structure for this is being studied for proposal to the community.

Bonjour,

Heya, folks -- I nominated Douglas Campbell CM as a support profile for next week's Connection-Finder theme of Santa. He has a picture, but needs a bio and to be Connected in order to be considered. Anyone up for the challenge? Perhaps co-ordination with Project Scotland's Glasgow team might work? (My reason for posting here -- he died in Montreal, in 2009.)

hi Melanie,

Have you contacted Ontario team also? From a quick look at his Wikipedia article, he was much involved with the Stratford festival, which is in that part of the country. Not sure what we could bring to his profile here, he died in Hôtel-Dieu hospital here, but the wikiped article doesn't mention what brought him here.

Hmm ... no, just the Glasgow Team (Scotland Project). Was just thinking of notifying Projects, in the hope that someone could do what I can't.

Want I should post to the Ontario page as well?

Linda Peterson has just let me know he should show as Connected tomorrow.

http://www.ville.quebec.qc.ca/redirecteurgpd/RedirectGPD.ashx?UniteAdm=Culture_patrimoine_relations_internationales&Annee=2020&Sommaire=CU2020-035.pdf
