History
Quiet Corner Plantation was located on Wadmalaw Island, Charleston County, South Carolina. It was owned by Richard Jenkins LaRoche Sr. Richard LaRoche Sr. passed the Quiet Corner Plantation to his son, Richard LaRoche Jr.[1]
Quiet Corner was also called Bohickett Plantation in some paperwork.[2] After the Civil War Richard LaRoche had to send an application in to the Freedmen's Bureau seeking restitution of his lands,[3] which were eventually restored 18 Jan 1866.[4]
There is a cemetery on Quiet Corner Plantation.[5][6]
Slaves
The probate inventory of Richard J. LaRoche Sr. in 1846 named and valued each of the slaves he owned at his death.[7]

After the Civil War
After the Civil War the Quiet Corner Plantation was inhabited by Freed Men (and women). They were to enter into a contract with Richard LaRoche Jr. to be able to stay on the property after the property was returned to the owner. [8]
