Assignment 2 • Document 1 • Document 2 • Document 3 • Document 4 page 1 • Document 4 page 2 • Document 5
(a) Using the supplied documents as your starting point, first create a timeline for Tom Jenkins. Include all dates and places of events and dates and places of residence provided, which include information relevant to Tom himself. Add in some regional and / or national context in the form of historical events, together with sources of your information. Look at the documents in more detail and write a couple of paragraphs describing what they tell you about Tom Jenkins? (20 marks)

(b) Conduct your own research into the following for Tom Jenkins:
• Baptism record
• Marriage record
• 1861 census
• 1871 census
• Death record
• Burial record

Be sure to provide detailed research notes and source information, including all the components described in the Lesson 2 notes (in freehand form please, not a table). Please do not add your new research to the timeline, or prepare a second timeline. This part of the question is interested in your research and your notes. (30 marks) (You should aim to write 1000-1500 words for part (b) – this does not include your source list or bibliography).
