Daniel Regnier, supposedly of the Pas de Calais region of France emigrated to England sometime prior to his marriage to Ann Curling (e) in 1694 in Thanet, Kent.
Daniel was likely a Hugenot & was part of the Edict of Nances in the mid 1600's. His father possibly was Pierre Regnier, but sources are lacking.
The Rainier's lived for generations in Kent County, England and Middlesex, England prior to emigrating to Austalia and Canada.
There was a large presence in Naval history with the Rainiers, including Admiral Peter Rainier, Admiral John Spratt Rainier and Captain Peter Rainier
