Randolph county is situated on the southwest borders of the State of Illinois, and bisected at right angles by the 38th degree of North latitude, and the 90th degree of longitude west from Greenwich, England. It is an irregular district, triangular in outline, and bounded on the north by Monroe, St. Clair, and Washington counties, on the east by Perry and Jackson counties, and on the south and west by the Mississippi river and Monroe county.[1]
