Looking to find out more about James Reid and Jannet Gow, parents of Peter Reid, 1778-1855. He married Margaret Sinclair 1778-1852 on June 5, 1796. She was born at Cowiebank, St Ninian's, Stirlingshire on 27 Sept 1776. But her parents were not listed in the marriage record nor in the Match in Family Search. So any info on her as well, please.

Hello Norman,

Please find below the details of the marriage entries for James Reid & Jannet Gow (Dow) which I obtained from ScotlandsPeople .

Marriage entry: Edinburgh Sabbath 29th December 1765 James Reid, labourer, & Janet Dow, daughter of deceased John Dow farmer in Little Dunkeld, now both in College in this parish.

Marriage declaration in Little Dunkeld: January 26th 1766 James Reid and Janet Dow both in Dalmarnock appeared before the sessions, and declared themselves married persons, and produced a certificate for it from Edinburgh and gave in oath ... to the Banns.

Dalmarnock is a farm just north of Little Dunkeld.

I can send the originals via email if you like.

Best wishes, Will
