Earliest known Haese ancestor
Ferdinand Friedrich Haese is my ggg grandfather who was born in Stettin, Pommern (Pomerania), Prussia, Germany and emigrated to South Australia in 1849. He was escaping religious persecution as he was a Lutheran and it had become illegal to practice the Lutheran religion in Prussia. I have no idea who his parents are. I am hoping this name study may shed light on him and his family.
Migration
It is hoped that this project will help to track the migratory pathways worldwide. My research at the moment and so far is just charting Haese's from Pommern (Pomerania) Prussia/Germany to South Australia, and then from South Australia to Australia wide.
Anyone who is researching Haese migration from Germany or Prussia to different countries, eg USA or South Africa, is encouraged to join this project to share their findings. It would be great to see how common or rare the surname Haese is world wide.
