Background
Riverside Plantation consisted of 489 acres of marsh and had no deep water landing. The southern section was in the Bailey family for generations, possibly as far back as Henry Bayly(Bailey) (between 1695-1700).
In 1857, Ephraim Clark Bailey purchased 189 acres from John Hanrahan's estate..[1]
