Sanborn, Jr. described the body of V. C. Sanborn's work as "massive." V. C. Sanborn's work on the immigrant Sanborn family includes in several pamphlets and articles; this is but one. He is considered by the Sanborn Family Association to have been "premier Sanborn researcher of the later 19th and early 20th centuries."
