INACTIVE CEMETERY. This cemetery has not been used since 1826.
It is located on private land that is an operating gravel pit. Permission is needed from the landowners. Extension end to access it.
"Old Williamsburg Road Cemetery, 1788-1826 This old burying ground is situated off a few rods to the left on the old road from Williamsburg to Goshen. This old road, now long unused starts between two houses. About a mile up this road will be found a level, clear piece of land with a maple tree beside the road on the left and marked with an arrow pointing towards the burying ground. Go straight ahead for about 200 feet, towards a clump of pines and these few stones will be found on the edge of a steep bank." Walter Corbin transcribed the cemetery in 1934. He erroneously listed the cemetery in Goshen.
David Allen Lambert's "A Guide to Massachusetts Cemeteries", 2nd edition, lists an AKA of Rogers-Buder-Bassett Family Cemetery.
