History

Anglican sections of Rookwood Cemetery, cremations since 1925 and burials from 1867.

Anything pre 2007 at Rookwood Crematorium is Anglican as the Catholic didn't open until 2007

With NSW Cemetery legislation reforms, Rookwood General Cemetery was established in 2012. This united the Anglican, General, Independent, Jewish and Muslim Trusts that had formerly managed Rookwood.

Each year over 1,900 interments and commemorations are performed, representing over 90 different religious and cultural groups.

The Anglican and General Section is responsible for the burial, care and maintenance of the following sections that make up the newly formed Rookwood General Cemetery Trust.

The Anglican Trust; Anglican, Armenian, Assyrian, Macedonian Orthodox, Mandaen, Maori, Serbian Orthodox, Russian Orthodox.

The General Trust; Chinese, Druze, Hindu, Indochinese, Islamic, Khmer, Vietnamese.
