This is a One Name Study to collect together in one place everything about one surname and the variants of that name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join our study to help make it a valuable reference point for people studying lines that cross or intersect. Please contact the project leader, add categories to your profiles, add your questions to the bulletin board, add details of your name research, etc.
The variants to be included within this study are Roslin, Rosellen, Roscelyn and Roscelin.
Within England the surname ROSLING appears to have its origins in Lincolnshire. However I suspect that it may have been introduced by Viking invaders given the prevalence of the name elsewhere. (This is something yet to be proven)
There are a few less common first names that have been passed down the generations in this family. Peregrine and Heffeld (with variants) are the two most common. I will look at these at some point but would be interested to know when they were first used by the family.
The focus is currently with England and many of the profiles have been categorised on this page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:England%2C_Rosling_Name_Study
