The Royal Admiral is described as being a 414 ton barque built in 1828. Her Shipsmaster was Captain Fotheringham. She was carrying approximately 208 passengers including 112 Free Passage migrants.
From the South Australian Gazette and Colonial Register of January 20, 1838.
We are glad to announce the arrival of the Royal Admiral with 205 passengers of whom 198
are sent out by the Commissioners. She left Falmouth September 26th., where she shipped
112 Cornish Emigrants and did not touch at any port. The people are very well satisfied with the
arrangements for their comforts—their rations being more than they could consume. Spoke on
this side the Cape the Dee from Scotland for this place, so she may be daily expected.
