About the Project
The Rutherford Name Study project serves as a collaborative platform to collect information on the Rutherford name. The hope is that other researchers like you will join the study to help make it a valuable reference point for other genealogists who are researching or have an interest in the Rutherford name.
As a One Name Study, this project is not limited to persons who are related biologically. Individual studies can be used to branch out the research into specific methods and areas of interest, such as geographically (England Rutherford's), by time period (18th Century Rutherford's), or by topic (Rutherford DNA, Rutherford Occupations, Rutherford Statistics). These studies may also include a number of family branches which have no immediate link with each other. Some researchers may even be motivated to go beyond the profile identification and research stage to compile fully sourced, single-family histories of some of the families they discover through this name study project.

I have gone down the genetic geneaolgy path to try to figure out my Rutherford ancestors. I now run a project on FTDNA for one branch of the Rutherford tree and am a co-admin for the other branches of the Rutherford tree.
I would love to join this project and share the knowledge of what has been found with Y-DNA about the whole Rutherford tree, while also adding sources to existing profiles to develop a full picture of the Rutherford's throughout time.
Thanks, Leeta
My maternal granddad was a Rutherford. I've added myself to the member list and will delve in.
Cheers, Brad

This is great. I've never met anyone who knows more about the Rutherford's than you do. So you are the perfect person to take this on!
Thanks so much for starting this, and if I can help in any way, let me know.
