Know all men by these presents, that for and in consideration of six hundred dollars to the undersigned Grantor Elias Callahan and his wife Salie Callahan in hand [??] paid by Truman H Aldrich the receipt where of is here by acknowledged we do grant [???] sell and convey unto the said Truman H Aldrich the following described real estate to wit: the north half of the southeast quarter of section twenty-four (24) and the south east quarter of the north east quarter of section twenty-four (24) all in Township twenty two (22) Range six (6) west Situated in Bibb County Alabama. To have and to hold to the said Truman H Aldrich heirs and assignors forever and we do so for our heirs Executors and Administrators Covenant with the said Truman H Aldrich his heirs and assignors that we are lawfully Signed in fee Simple of Said premises that they are free from all incumbrances and that we have a good right to Sell and convey the Same as aforesaid that we will and our heirs Executors and administrators Shall warrant [??] and defend the Same to the Same to ?Seir S Truman H Aldrich his heirs Executors and assignors forever against the lawful claims of all persons.

On the same day and recorded in same Bibb County record,[1] George Tillery and his wife, Minerva (Callahan) Tillery (a daughter of Elias and Sallie Callahan), sold 160 acres of land for $975 to Truman H. Aldrich. This 160 acres was very near, though not abutting, the land that Elias & Sallie Callahan also sold to Truman H. Aldrich; see:
