Location: North Ronaldsay, Orkney, Scotland
Sandback (Samback) is a house on the island of North Ronaldsay in East North Yard townland, 250m south of Senness. Meaning "sandy bank", it is adjacent to the "Noust of Sandback", the only landing place on the south facing side of the Dennis Head peninsular.
It was one of only seven crofts in the townland that were listed in the Poll Tax returns of 1693. However, the current building dates from the mid-1800s.[1]
