What This Is
Goal of the Project
The goal of the project is to document all of the ancestors of Sampson Waring. Sampson Waring was born in 1616 in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England, and migrated to the Province of Maryland via the Colony of Virginia. Sampson Waring has numerous descendants in Maryland and elsewhere in the United States.
Sampson Waring was a member of the gentry or landowner class in Shrewsbury. His ancestry reaches back into the English gentry and nobility as well as Welsh royalty.
In legend, the ancestry reaches back to various European gods and goddesses, or, if one prefers, to the Biblical Adam and Eve.
Process
The project focuses on Space: Sampson Waring Ahnentafel which is a series of ancestor tables reaching back from Sampson Waring.
As each ancestor is researched, the objective is to be able to mark that ancestor confident as the parent of the generation following. If there is insufficient sourcing to have such confidence, the line in the ahnentafel is ended with a note. This has occurred with more than one ancestor who is alleged to be an illegitimate child of royalty, but there is not enough documentation to assert this as confident.
This effort obviously contributes to WikiTree as a whole, because one is adding documentation to WikiTree profiles that are shared far beyond this project.
All documentation is done with in-line citations.

Who May Join
Pre-1500 Certification
All of the work pertains to pre-1500 profiles, therefore pre-1500 certification is required to participate fully.
Non pre-1500 Certification
WikiTree members who are not pre-1500 certified may wish to take on documenting Sampson Waring's descendants. Some lines of descendants are documented, but many more are not. It is assumed that interest persons are probably Sampson Waring descendants themselves, but this is not necessary.

To Do List
Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.
Ancestor Tables are derived from WikiTree. Ones which need work reach backward in time from those which have been completed. Project members will be assigned specific tables of WikiTree profiles to work on.
