Surnames/tags: brooke garrigues Whereas Samuel Brooke of the County of Montgomery in the State of Maryland Son of Roger Brooke late of the State of Maryland aforesaid deceased and Mary his wife, and Sarah Garrigues Daughter of William Garrigues of the city of Philadelphia in the State of Pennsylvania and Mary his wife deceased having declared their intentions of Marriage with each other before several Monthly Meetings of the People Called Quakers, at Philadelphia for the the Northern District -- according to the good order used amongst them; and having consent of the surviving Parents, their said proposals were allowed of by the said Meeting. Now these are to Certify whom it may concern, that for the full accomplishing of their said Intentions this twenty eighth day of the eleventh month in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninty seven, they the said Samuel Brooke and Sarah Garrigues appeared in a publick meeting of the said Peopleheld in their North Meeting House at Philadelphia aforesaid and the said Samuel Brooke taking the said Sarah Garrigues by the Hand, did on this solemn occasion openly declare. that he took her the said Sarah Garrigues to be his Wife promising through Divine Assistance to be unto her a faithful and affectionate Husband until Death should seperate them and then in the same assembly the said Sarah Garrigues, did, in like manner declare, that she took him the said Samuel Brooke to be her Husband promising through the Divine assistance to be unto him a faithfull and affectionate Wife until Death should seperate them. And moreover they the said Samuel Brooke and Sarah Garrigues she acording to the custom of Marriage assuming the name of her Husband as a further confirmation thereof, did, then and there to these presents set their Hands,
