Property Deed

In 1817, Samuel Givens gave Edward Willett the use of his farm, buildings, animals, implements and slaves in exchange for 6/7ths of the profits for five years. The slaves named in this agreement are Edmond & Sara his wife Rape, Jerry, Frank, Rus, Charles, Sam, Green, Berry, and Simon.[4]

1829 Taxes

In 1829 Samuel Givens, owned 2377 acres of land in Union County, 11 slaves over age 16 and 5 slaves under age 16.[5]
