Saybrook Township is one of the twenty-seven townships of Ashtabula County, Ohio. Part of the city of Ashtabula is located in northeastern Saybrook Township, along the shoreline of Lake Erie.

The original owners of Saybrook Township were William Hart and Samuel Mather. In 1804, George Webster arrived in the county with his widowed mother. He settled in Saybrook Township before 1810. Next came Joseph Hotchkiss, Zadoc Brown, Stephen Herriman, Oliver Steward, Josiah and Samuel Wright, Jesse Blackington, Thomas Stevens, Theodore Blynn, Jesse M. Wright, Solomon Bates, Jarvis Harris, Charles Pratt, Amasa Tyler, and Chandler Williams.
