Goal

The goal of this Team is to make all County profiles the best that they can be. It is our desire to leave a lasting legacy of work for future generations by sourcing, connecting and growing our County branches of the tree.

Clackmannanshire Team To-do lists

When working with profiles of individuals associated with Clackmannanshire:

  • Create new profiles after you've done your best to ensure it is not a duplicate.
    • If you discover it is a duplicate after its been created, initiate a merge into the lower-numbered profile.
  • Identify and merge any duplicates
    • Clean up after the merge to ensure the profile remains accurate and meets our Project Standards.
  • Work with other Teams if you find a profile that needs their attention.
  • Review existing profiles and help bring them up to Project Standard.
  • Add relevant categories and/or stickers to profiles, as appropriate. If you are unsure, contact the Categories Team for help.

I am terrified of "getting it wrong" regards categories, so only add what already exists. I note that there is no category for Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire - and it can be added to several profiles already. SP member, not on a location Team and happy with staying that way.  :P

No terror needed, Mel. We'll get it added!

Needed, or not, categories scare me!  :P

(D'you know -- I just now realised that my current pic has me wearing my kilt-dress (I was little, so it had a stitched on "bodice" you weren't ever meant to see) - and I still have my kilt pin.)

You can always request a new category using the form at https://www.wikitree.com/contact/category/

Doug - I have a hard enough time remembering to ADD categories (beyond the child/infant mortality ones) at all. Remembering where to look for asking for a new one? (You can't see me laughing at myself over trying to remember that.) I seriously think pigs will fly before I can train my memory to do that.

I was lucky I thought of the regional Teams of the SP when I looked for the location categories I wanted.

Finding things can be difficult. Do you take advantage of the Scratch space on the "Nav Home Page?" I've had to start using it for links to things I can't remember. You can still post on pages like this. Someone here will see to it.

My scratch pad is so full of different links and things I get lost in looking for anything. Same with adding favourites on my browser -- I ended up with so many Wikitree links I STILL can't find what I need.  :( (AND I organised them into sub-folders.)

I give myself a star for remembering the SP has location Team pages, and to come look for this one. It's a definite plus for the day! (A month ago I would simply have found no category, shrugged, and gone on to other things. I am trying really hard to not do that anymore.)

I've added the requested categories for both the parish and burgh. I'm happy to add them for you, but Doug is correct. You can request them from the Categorization Project via the request form link he provided, at any time.

Thank you for adding them. I doubt I will ask again.
