My great-grandmother was born in Dumfries and moved to Canada as an indentured servant in the mid-1850s. Are there any records in Scotland that would show who she was indentured to, and who her parents were? It was her father that owed money to a man who was moving to Canada and sent his daughter to pay it off. Her name was Margaret Thomson, Thomson-5912. Any help would be appreciated.

You might be able to find something here: https://www.oldscottish.com/register-deeds.html. Indentures were usually recorded in the register of deeds. Hope this helps.
