The goal of this project is to share the 200th Anniversary of the Pea River Presbyterian Church where people from Isle of Skye began a church in 1823 in #Clio, #Alabama. I made a video with tartans, names, celebration wall, oral history, cemetery reference, speakers, bagpipe, and poetry. For people who are looking for cousins, this church is a good beginning for people from Isle of Skye, Scotland. The church came from Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in North Carolina. It started in 1776. It will soon have a 250 anniversary in 2026.
- Baxter, Abercrombie, Curry, Currie, McLean, and Wallace are some of the many names from Scotland.
- I was told there may be only one written history of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church in North Carolina. Can someone find other copies or find the copyright? Is it in the Library of Congress?
