Scrivener-Bowie Cousins

This is a family picture from about 1930. The two formidable ladies in the center are my great-grandmother Louise Gwynn Scrivener (wearing the hat) and her sister Effie Gwynn Bowie (holding a baby). My great-grandfather, Frank Scrivener Sr., is the white-haired gentleman standing in the back row just behind Mrs. Bowie. My grandfather, Frank Scrivener Jr., is bending down next to his mother with his son Jack in front of him. My grandmother Elizabeth Dent Scrivener is standing next to him (wearing the hat and looking down at him.) My father. Frank Scrivener III. is the unhappy little boy sitting on the cushion at the far right of the picture. His sister, my Aunt Reds, is the little girl with dark (actually RED) hair sitting on the other cushion in front of her grandmother.

The others are the children and grandchildren of Effie Gwynn Bowie and her husband, Richmond Irving Bowie, who died in 1923 before this picture was taken.
