My great grandmother was a Seay and I wish I had paid more attention to the family stories she told me before she died in 2002. I created a profile for her and her parents (I have yet to list her 6 siblings) but I do not know anything else about the Seay family.

Her father was: Samuel Henry “Barney” Seay (1873-1955) His death certificate indicates he was born in Arkansas and I’ve also heard most of the Seay’s I’m related to are from Arkansas. His obit shows s/o Samuel L. Seay but I haven’t been able to verify that or find any details.

Are your ancestors related to Seay's from Amelia and Henry Counties, Va.? My Seay family is descended from the James Seay Jr. and Lucy Lewis marriage. My grandfather was Mathew Seay Sr. who married Elizabeth Ham in Amelia, then migrated to Halifax CTY., Pittsylvania CTY., and finally to Henry CTY., where they settled and most died and are buried there. I believe that my Mathew had a brother Jacob and other siblings.
