- Wish 52 - I would appreciate some help on the parents of my ancestor Eletson-1 Elizabeth Eletson: Samuel and Permelia (Buch or Bunch) Eletson from Poughkeepsie, NY. (Her tombstone spells her name as Elliston, but nearly everywhere else family members went by Eletson in records.) The birthplaces for the parents in the 1880 census, as recorded for their children, do not agree, ranging from NY to NJ to England. All the records I've found are connected to them on the Family Search site. Thanks.

Her Death: "Dryden Herald", Dryden, NY, Wednesday, November 24, 1897 Mrs. Elizabeth Grover Crittenden, after an illness of several months, died on Tuesday, November 16, at her late residence. The funeral services were held at the M.E. church and the interment was at Willow Glen. Mrs. Crittenden was the daughter of Samuel and Permelia Eletson, of Poughkeepsie, and is survived by two brothers, Charles, of Chicago, and Samuel, of Rochester, and one sister, Mrs. Winchester Snyder, of Waring, Pa. In early life she married Ira Grover, who died in 1854, leaving her with two sons, Pliny and Ira, who survive her, and a daughter, whose death occurred several years ago. [Locations of Charles & Samuel are reversed.]

Ithaca Journal, Ithaca, NY, Tuesday, August 27, 1940 Ira S. Grover, 87, died at 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, 1940 at his home,132 Fayette Street.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gilbert's Undertaking Parlors, 125 E. Buffalo Street, the Rev. Raymond H. Cox, pastor of the State Street Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden.
Besides two sons, Ira Grover Jr. of Ithaca and Fay Grover of Slaterville Rd., Mr. Grover is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Pearl Caley of the Town of Ithaca; 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Auburn Citizen, Auburn, N.Y., Saturday, October 10, 1914 Death of Pliny Grover. Pliny Grover, aged 65 years and three months, died last evening at his home at the Goodrich House in the Village of Moravia, after a long illness. For many years Mr. Grover was well known as the proprietor of the Goodrich House in the Moravia and as a lover of horses. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Stuart R. Treat of Auburn, and a brother, Ira Grover of Ithaca. The funeral will be held at the Goodrich House at Moravia at 10:16 o'clock tomorrow morning and the burial will be made at Willow Glen at Dryden, N. Y. Rev. W. S. Stevens, rector of St. Matthew's Church of Moravia, will officiate. The members of Sylvan Lodge, F. and A. M., of which the deceased was a member, will attend the funeral.
