William Forbes, then of Leavenworth, Kansas, enlisted for Civil War 02 August 1862 at the age of 29 (thus b. 1833; might he have been ae 19?); census of 1880 reports him aged 38 b. c1842; 1900 census reports William b. Sept 1847, aged 52. In the census of 1910 he was aged 64, thus b. c1846.

DEATHS IN KANSAS CITY.
Mrs. Emma S. FORBES, wife of William G. FORBES, died yesterday at her home, 1406 East Thirty-seventh Street. She was 59 years old. Besides her husband, she is survived by five daughters, Mrs. H. B. HURD of the home, Mrs. Fred NIXON, St. Joseph; Mrs. W. H. STARK, Sugar Creek; Mrs. G. B. McMULLIN, 705 East Forty-first Street, and Mrs. H. G. LEIBFRIED, 1807 East Twenty-ninth Street. The funeral will be private at the home at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery.

Sandra Watts [1] reports that Fred, son of Elias Haynes and Elizabeth (Noel) Nixon married Lucy Caroline Forbes (aka Carrie Forbes) on 19 Jun 1907. Her research reports that Carrie was b. 7 Aug 1878 at Leavenworth Co., Kansas and d. 30 Aug 1969 Further, that Fred Nixon was b. 27 Jun 1879 near Pekin, Illinois and died 25 Jul 1971.
