My brick wall is my 7th great-grandfather, John Shirey, b. 24 Nov 1773, Franklin Co., PA, d. 20 Mar 1850, York Co., PA. The mystery is the names of his parents!?! There is a lot of misinformation out there and several hap-hazzard guesses, but NO solid proof! I would really like to solve this mystery!
Also in question is the name of his first wife, the mother of his first 5 children. I am descendent from his first son, Augustus, from his second wife, Maria Ruthrauff. But having the name of his first wife would be icing on the cake!
