Sidney B. Lowery
Funeral services for Sidney Browten
Lowery, 77, of Rt. 1, Rockingham were
held Sunday at 2 p.m. from St. Paul
United Methodist Church with Rev.
Brooks Patton officiating. Burial was in
Richmond Memorial Park.
A retired farmer and veteran of World
War 1, Mr. Lowery was born January 19,
1897 in Anson County son of Sidney J. and
Susan Rebecca Griggs Lowery. He died
Friday in a local hospital.
Surviving are his wife the former
Sadie Teal; three sons, Edward B.
Lowery of Baltimore, Md., Stearley Teal
Lowery of Rockingham; and Boyd
Francis Lowery of Anaheim, Calif.; one
daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Betty Faye)
Holder of Rockingham; one brother, J.C.
Lowery of McFarlan; two sisters, Mrs.
Letha Stegall and Mrs. Carrie Mae Britt,
both of Rockingham; nine grand-
children; and nine great-grandchildren.
Watson-King Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
