Silent Film Stars and The Silent Movie Era

The goal of this project is to document Silent Film Actors and Actresses and the Silent Films in which they starred. I would like to present the origin of Silent Films and the evolution of these movies from the very first Silent Movie until the last one made.

Among the subject matter I'd like to address is how, when and where did the Silent Film Era get it's start? Who were the pivotal people, behind the scenes, who ensured the success of each film? Who were the most notable writers, stars and directors? Where were the films shot? How were these films marketed and distributed? Who were the most prominent film studios and why were they so successful?

I would like to also address the impact that these films made on the public who viewed them as well as those who participated in the process of making them.

Right now this project just has one member, me. I am Amy W.

Here are some of the tasks that I think need to be done. I'll be working on them, and could use your help.

• Incorporate existing Silent Film Stars into this group
• Add Silent Film Stars who are not yet profiled
• Research and add Silent Film Era Historical Facts
• Add biographies for Silent Film Stars that illustrate the influence to their lives
• Add photos of each Silent Film Star as well as photos that represent the films in which they starred.
• Add profiles for Silent Film Directors, Writers and others of note.
• Additional ideas to make this a thorough and cohesive collection.
