Introduction
April William Ellison purchased property from Thomas Sumter, and then in 1838, he purchased from Stephen Miller the 54.5 acre plantation next door, then known as Wisdom Hall.[1] When he died on 5 December 1861, his will, written on 22 Mar 1850, went into probate, leaving his property to his children. [2]
