- In 1833 Benjamin Chaires purchased from Wm G. Burgess in Leon Co, FL:[2]
- In 1836, he purchased the Fauntleroy Plantation for $25,000 from George Fauntleroy. The property covered 800 acres and came with everything including 57 slaves.[3]

- In 1833, Mary Ann Burgess wished to take
- to New Orleans, LA. Isaac Preston and Jacob Wilcox Esq. attorneys in New Orleans are to take charge and manage the slaves, however personally restricting them from selling or disposing of said slaves.[7]
