Background

Benjamin Foissier Trapier lived in Georgetown County, South Carolina. He owned at least 2 plantations: Laurel Land and Windsor Plantation, both in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Benjamin owed a great amount of money during his lifetime, some to his brother William W. Trapier, and some to his brother-in-laws, William and Nathaniel Heyward.

Marriage Bond Trust

A source document shows Trapier's property and enslaved persons used for security for his marriage bond, which was totally satisfied by 1808. This transaction was listed as a mortgage for additional security for the original marriage bond. The enslaved were named and transcribed here as listed in this 1803 document,[1] and in the 1803 sale document, Benjamin F. Trapier to William Heyward:[2]
