Background
This page was created to hold the information about the enslaved on Catherne Cordes Prioleau who died in 1832, wife of Samuel Prioleau.
On 10 Jul 1832 Catharine Prioleau gave to Dr. Edmond Ravenel the following enslaved persons in trust for her granddaughter, Mrs. Louisa Ravenel, the wife of Dr. Edmond Ravenel:[1]

Will
The will of Catharine Cordes Prioleau named a number of enslaved persons:[2]
to Daughter Martha:
- Hope
- Abram (Abraham) (who was left to Catharine instead of Marcus)
- Judy
- Peggy
- Annette (I will and direct that each of my children pay to the servant Annette during the term of her natural life the sum of $5 to be paid on the first day of every January by my children and their executors and administrators)

The following enslaved were named and valued in the probate inventory of Catharine Cordes Prioleau in 1832:[3] (these appear to be the same enslaved left to her daughter Martha in her will)
