Bannerman Plantation (aka Iamonia Plantation)
Charles developed Bannerman Plantation, also known as Iamonia Plantation, was developed prior to 1852. It was a 1500 acre forced labor farm northwest of Lake Iamonia in Northwestern Leon County, Florida.[1] In 1860, the plantation had 1440 acres with 120 slaves, according to Plantations of Leon County in 1860. However, the agricultural census states 1500 acres and 67 slaves.[2][3]

On the Leon County 1850 Tax Roll and U.S. Agricultural Census, Bannerman was stated to have 37 slaves and 1114 acres.[5]

1860 Slave Schedule Census
- In the 1860 census Charles was in Tallahassee, Leon, Florida, United States. This census only showed he owned 4 slaves, but they may have been the slaves at his residence in Tallahassee. He had an overseer for his plantation on Lake Iamonia which reportedly had 67 slaves.[7]
