Research Notes

  • Slaves of Ferebe (Whitifield) Pearsall: The "Constantine Whitfield deed to James Pearsall", states that he gifted 8 slaves to his daughter Ferebe Pearsall, who supposedly died sometime after 25 March 1795. So did the eight slaves stay in James' possession?
On 22 July 1807, James Pearsall sold to John Outlaw a 14 year old enslaved girl named "Doll". [6] Is she the same child of Chole, named Doll, who was gifted to Ferebe in 1795?
