Biography

Daniel was the son of James Troup and Camilla Brailsford, one of six children. He was a planter and a physician.

Schedule Division of Slaves in the Will of Dr James Troup, 14 April 1856, Glynn County, Georgia, Bequeathed to Dr Daniel Heyward Brailsford Troup

It is assumed these slaves mentioned in the will were from the Broadfield Plantation, later known as Hofwyl-Broadfield, which was Dr Troup's home place in Glynn County, Georgia.[1]
It is believed that the number beside some names designates a division of family groups. For example. Silas has a 6 so his family group includes London to him, six people. The next family has six members also and stops on Elsy, and so on.
Slaves listed on schedule No 2 were inherited by Dr Troup.
Total assessed value was $22,550:[2]
