In 1846, slaves from David Swope's estate were divided as follows:[4]
- "Martin Swope shall have the slaves John valued at $300 and Susan valued ant $225."
- "Morgan Swope to have the slaves Anthony & Joseph valued both together at $1000."
- "John Speidel to have the slaves William valued at $650, Mary at $200 & Enoch at $150."
1846 Will of David Swope
In his will, signed August 12, 1846 (proved in September Court 1846), David Swope identified specific disposition of the following named slaves.[5]
The following six slaves were to be divided between his heirs or sold if required

An appraisal of the state was presented to the 1846 December Court.[6]
