Import of Slaves into Georgia

The following slaves were brought into Georgia from Virginia in 1821.^[1]

• Walace -19 years old - yellow complexion
• Alfred - 7 years old - yellow complexion
• Depha - 33 old - black
• Sarah - 14 years old - black

Mortgage

Duncan mortgages some of his slaves to Robert Stafford in 1843 for $10,000. The slaves on the mortgage: Charlotte, Willis, George, Affey, Frank, Dolly, Mary Jane, Sophia, George, Andrew, Billy, Stephen, Kate, Fanny, Stepney, Joe, Mary, Susan, Young Frank, Peggy, Hagar, Nanny, Larken, Nanny, Robert, David, Sylvia, Naston, Fugus, and Delphia.^[2]

Probate

Duncan died in 1849 but the 1850 slave schedule still listed 229 slaves to him in Camden County, Georgia.
