He had money in banks in Alabama, South Carolina, and Georgia.

Will, Tuscaloosa County, AL 1838
Edward left to his wife Sarah "the tract of land on which we live along with the one on Russ (?) Creek." He also left to her "all my negroes both male and female," and directed that when their children were of age they would "have two grown negroes each say a man and a woman, and as many more as she my wife may think proper to give."
He divided his remaining property equally among all his children, and made provisions for a granddaughter as well.
Aaron Ready, John Napier, and Willis Banks were executors of his will.
