Will of William Simpler
In 1831 William Simpler wrote a will granting all his estate both real and personal to his wife, Elana, to be disposed of at her own will.[1] This would have included the 6 slaves listed to William Simpler on the 1830 census. [2] Both of these events in the 1830's took place in Warren County, Georgia. By 1840 Elana had moved to Meriwether County, Georgia where the remaining records are found.
1840 Census
There were 5 slaves listed to Elany on the 1840 census.[3]
