Slaves of George Boxley
George Boxley lived at the Newman-Mitchell House in Louisa, Virginia (see image source with photo of house and some directions as to where it was--specific modern address not yet found) from roughly 1800 until his death in 1842. It's not known if he had any other properties and current assumptions are that the people he enslaved also lived on this property.

Research Notes
- There is a reference to George Boxley being in the 1830 Census for Louisa County, Virginia on ancestry.com, but as I don’t currently have a subscription, I cannot access any of the information. This specific census does not show up on myheritage.com or familysearch.org
- George dictated his will to his son Joseph Clivius on June 28, 1842, only two years after the 1840 Census. I am trying to find connections between the enslaved people in the 1840 Census (who are unnamed) and the enslaved people in the will (who are given names but not ages) but so far there are more enslaved people in the will than in the Census. I understand that I am not an expert on this and am unlikely to find real connections but I will continue to try.
- What happened to his wife Drusilla’s enslaved people after she died?
