George RC Floyde was recorded in the 1850 slave schedule in Wythe, Virginia, United States as a slave owner of 15 enslaved persons.[1][2]

1860
By 1860, George RC Floyd had removed to Lawrence, Tennessee, where his name does not appear on the 1860 Slave Schedule. His father John B Floyd does appear on the schedule, so perhaps George no longer personally owned slaves, but relied on labor from his father's slaves. His personal property was valued at $1000, which suggests he could have had a few slaves, but not the number he had when residing in Wythe County. It would be useful to check deed books to see if any sales were made when he sold his Wythe County property.
