The following slaves he inherited in the division of his father's estate in 1860. However, George Jr was deceased at this point so the slaves were actually inherited by his estate, managed by DHB Troup.[3] Theses slaves came from multiple plantations of the Governor including: Lower Turkey Creek, Valdosta, Thomas Crossroads, Rosemont and Horseshoe Place Plantations. There were also slaves from his uncle, Robert's estate that had been inherited by his father included.
