This page's purpose is to record the enslaved people owned by Gillis McDonald, and attempt to connect them to their families.

Gillis died in 1854 and his probate inventory lists 72 living (and one dead) slave. These slaves were to be divided between his son and daughter but the son died in 1854 as well. Research to this point would indicated that the daughter, Isabel McDonald Adams inherited everything.
