Inheritance
He inherited the following slaves from his father's estate in 1841 (as well as a group upon his mother's death).[1]
He inherited the following slaves from his father-in-law, Joel Coney, by right of his wife in 1853.[2] The estate was divided in December 1853.[3]

There are three slaves on the distribution document that do not match to the inventory: Meyru (inherited by James R Stanly) was possibly Mima.
Probate Inventory
His estate was inventories in August 1858, the following slaves were listed.[4] Portions of the estate were assigned to his minor children in 1858. Ages were included for some slaves on the distribution documents.[5]
