Associations

James wife Malvina (Crockett) Gleaves (1800-abt.1870) seems to have inherited slaves from Elizabeth Campbell (Taylor) Crockett (1775-1855) (the five are named in his will, and probably explain the increase in James T Slaves from 1850 to 1860).

Cohabitation Records

The following people listed James T Gleaves as their last owner before emancipation in the cohabitation register on 27th February 1866 in Wythe County.^[1] Note that the children listed are assumed to have had the same last owner as their mother, but that is not necessarily the case.
