The 23-year-old enslaved male is my 4th great grandfather, Elijah Langford. He is the enslaved man named "Lige" valued at $1000 in the November 1854 inventory of James Langford II's estate. He was eventually sold for $1,100 to Ebenezer Joseph Cottle on Christmas Day, 1855. I've confirmed via DNA testing that Elijah was in some way related to James Langford II.

There are other enslaved people named Henry, Bill, Sam, Charity (?) and her 3 unnamed children, Jane and her unnamed child, Mahalie, Rachael, and Georgia Ann. If anyone has any additional information about the people James Langford II and the Langford family enslaved, I would love to hear from you!
