- "JOSEPH WELCH to JESSEY R. SILAR (sic), both of Macon, for $400, a Negro boy named CEASOR, about 21 years of age, healthy and sensible. Jan 31, 1829. Joseph Welch. Wit: JOHN ALLMAN, B. BRITTON. Ack in court, Sep. 1829. Reg. Nov. 24, 1829."[6]
1832: Security on bond, mentions Isaac, b.-1817
- "Security for bond: EDWARD L. POINDEXTER, prosecutor of 5.5 shares of Tenn. R. Turnpike Rd., pledges security to JESSE R. SILER, for $10--Negro boy ISAAC, abt 15 yrs. & all interest Poindexter has in real estate of JOHN BARKER, dec'd, in Rutherford Co. NC. Poindexter, principal, & JOSEPH WELCH, JOSHUA PARSONS, BENJAMIN S. BRITTAIN, ISAAC TRUIT, DRURY WEEKS, ASAPH ENLOW secure $2,000 bond, payable in 5 years w. interest. April 12, 1832. E.L. Poindexer. Wit: THOMAS DEWS, Jr., JOHN R. ALLMAN. Registered May 3, 1832."[7]

- "JAMES POTEET to JESSE R. SILER, for $400, Negro, DANIEL, abt 41 yrs. Feb 22, 1830. James Poteet. Wit: JOHN TATHAM. Ack. April 1834 ct. Reg. May 15, 1834."[8]
1833: Mortgage of Sally, b. ~1807.
- "Mortgae: WILLIAM CUNNINGHAM to JESSE R. SILER, both of Macon, Negro girl, SALLY, abt 26 yrs of age, security for 2 notes, each for $100. Sep. 20, 1833. William Cunningham. Wit: JAMES ROBINSON. Registered May 16, 1834."[9]
1839: Purchase of Vina, b. ~1809, and Nelson, b. ~1837.
- "GEORGE W. HISE to JESSE R. SILAR (sic) for $750, Negro woman named VINA abt 30 yrs old & her boy-child NELSON abt 2 yrs old, the woman now delivered tohim at his own house & the child to be delivered to him or his agent at my father's in Walker Co., GA. I warrant them to be healthy & sensible. Feb. 1839, G.W. Hise. Wit: N. S. JARRETT, T. P. SILER. Proven by B.K. Dicky in court, Mar. 1839 session. Registered May 18, 1839."[10]
1839: Purchase of Issac, b.~1818
- "JOHN A. BELL, to JESSE R. SILAR (sic) for $800, a Negro man named ISAAC, 21 yrs of age, sound, healthy and sensible. Feb 25 1839. J. A. Bell Wit: BURTON DICKY, A. HESTER. Proven by B. K. Dickey in court, Mar. 1839 session. Registered Mar. 18, 1839."[11]
1840: Purchase of Patsey, b.~1820 and Albert, b.~1839.
- "JAMES POINDEXTER & THOS. W. P. POINDEXTER to JESSE R. SILER, for $900, a Negro woman, PATSEY abt 20 years old & her child ALBERT abt one yr., warrant to be sound, healthy, & sensible. Mar. 25, 1840. James Poindexter, Thos. W. P. Poindexter. Wit: J. H. QUIET. Proved by Quit in Mar. 1840 court. Registered June 9, 1840."[12]
1846: Use of Jackson, b. ~1834, Lizzy, b. ~1838, and Lea, b.~1839, as security on debt.
- "Mortgage: THOMAS M. MOORE to JESSE R. SILER, both of Macon, whereas Moore owes DAVID L. SWAIN of Chapel Hill $650, due Jan. next, he conveys to Siler as security three Negro slaves: JACKSON, 12 years, LIZZY, 8 years and LEA, 7 years. Dec. 9 1846. Thos. M. Moore. Wit: SAMUEL ROBINSON, D. E. HEAD. Proven by Robinson in Dec. 1846 court. Registered Jan. 9, 1847."[13]
1866: Cohabitation Record of Andrew Love and wife Mandy.
- On 4 August 1866 in Macon Co., NC, ANDREW LOVE "a colored man who formerly belonged to DILLARD LOVE" and his wife MANDY "who belonged to J.R. SILER" stated that they "have been living together as husband and wife about 20 years and still recognize each other as husband & wife."[14]
